December 06, 2017 – Ottawa, Canada – Sciemetric Instruments Inc., a pioneer of Industry 4.0 smart technologies used by global manufacturers to increase yield, improve quality and optimize manufacturing processes, has released the Leak Tuner Assistant, to help users take full advantage of the speed, accuracy and intelligence of Sciemetric’s 3520 Series Leak Tester.
Many conventional leak test systems are analog and claim plug-and-play functionality. But these systems suffer from poor adaptability to accurately and reliably compensate for common variables, from shifting environmental conditions in the plant to differences in fixturing for the leak test station. Achieving a reliable and repeatable leak test is a slow process.
The 3520 overcomes these shortcomings with a digital feedback controller and the ability to monitor over 20 sensors relevant to the status of the leak test. The result is much greater precision, speed, adaptability and reliability for leak testing versus conventional analog-based systems.
Tuning such a precise and complex leak test system often required deep technical and engineering expertise. Until now.
Sciemetric’s leak test specialists have distilled their knowhow into the Leak Tuner Assistant. This add-on to the 3520 makes tuning the PID controller software used to manage test pressure and optimize each phase of the test cycle as simple as entering the test pressure and (optionally) the fast fill pressure. An automated sequence of measurements and data analytics do the rest to determine the right settings and walk the user through any required adjustments.
