How is the signature collected?

Sensors such as load-cells, temperature, position and pressure sensors or displacement gauges are added to the station to collect highly consistent and repeatable signals. The signals can be physical measurements or computed values such as horsepower or efficiency based on specific measurements and mathematical formulae.

The Sciemetric system digitizes the sensor signal at a very high speed (up to 1,000,000 data sample points per second) and converts it to a process signature or waveform.

Other parameters that can be sensed but this list is by no means complete:

  • torque
  • density
  • porosity
  • flow
  • strain
  • distance
  • profile
  • movement
  • position
  • shape
  • orientation
  • angle
  • vacuum
