Marketing Communications Specialist

Location: Ottawa, Ontario

We are seeking a Marketing Communications Specialist to join our small but dynamic marketing team. This is an excellent growth opportunity for a hands-on B2B marketer who wants to work on all things marcom – such as advertising, PR, content marketing, Web & SEO, SEM, social media, and events – and see measurable impact.

Responsibilities 

  • Manage the company’s social media programs
  • Assist in the delivery of marketing communications campaigns, including advertising, direct marketing and PR
  • Track and report on campaign results using Google Analytics
  • Write, edit and oversee production of collateral (e.g., brochures, presentations, web content), working with the marketing and engineering teams and external suppliers.
  • Participate in the creation, management and execution of the company’s content strategy
  • Maintain and improve the Sciemetric Web site, ensuring it is up-to-date and consistent with marketing programs
  • Track, disseminate and manage leads in Salesforce.com
  • Coordinate the logistics of events such as tradeshows
  • Be the primary contact for materials and support for Sales and our channel partners
  • Manage sales promotion items for the organization, e.g., shirts, giveaways and other swag
  • Monitor marketing activity, analyze results and prepare regular reports
  • Provide additional support to the team and company as required

Requirements

  • College diploma or university degree in marketing, communications or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar position in a technical business-to-business organization
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken), including an aptitude for understanding technical concepts and synthesizing them into meaningful marketing materials
  • Initiative, creativity, strong problem-solving skills, the ability to set priorities and multitask
  • Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of Adobe products (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) can be an asset. 
  • Experience in using Google Analytics, Salesforce.com and/or ConstantContact is also helpful
