Job Summary

  • Responsible for production equipment and procedures, including
    • Qualifying new equipment and procedures
    • Maintenance and revision control of existing procedure
    • Training production staff on procedural changes
  • Sustaining engineering of existing products
    • Monitor non-conformance reports
    • Identify changes required due to obsolescence / shortages and logging ECRs
    • Reporting identified design issues to Director of Engineering
  • Independently support Production Department with engineering consultation

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage revision control of all released products
  • Main point of contact between with Suppliers, Vendors, Contract Manufactures and R&D Teams (Hardware and Software)
  • Ensure production equipment are calibrated and records are up-to-date
  • Support new product prototype build and verification testing
  • Propose design change requirements through Engineering Change Requests (ECR)
  • Implement design changes through Engineering Change Notices (ECN)
  • Debug production test failures of electronics and mechanical assemblies using provided design documentation including CCA schematics, layout, mechanical drawings and test procedures.
  • Perform detailed root cause failure analysis and implement permanent corrective actions 
  • Update, review and approve bills of material (BOMs)
  • Ensuring new components meet compliance requirements (e.g. RoHS)
  • Examine manufacturing processes and recommend improvements and efficiencies
  • Support the service department in debugging returned hardware

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.Sc. Engineering (Electronics, Manufacturing, Industrial)
  • Knowledge and experience in analog design and measurement criteria
    • e.g. accuracy, precision, error, bandwidth, common mode rejection ratio
  • Good Hands on understanding of op amps, inductors, capacitors, logic, PCI, analog signals
  • Scripting skills to debug automated test apparatus 
  • Experience using sensors such as: pressure sensors, pneumatics, encoders, flow meters
  • Knowledge of product life cycle management
  • 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Basic PC skills, e.g. working with motherboards, power supplies, hard disks
